The public involvement meeting will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 5-7 pm at New Richmond City Hall, 156 East First Street, New Richmond, WI 54017. A brief presentation will begin at 5:30 pm. The meeting will provide an overview of the proposed improvements, share project exhibits and displays, and give attendees an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.

The purpose of the project is to improve traffic flow, safety and multimodal accessibility along County A from County K/115th Street to West 4th Street while promoting sustainable transportation and supporting economic growth and environmental sustainability.

The New Richmond Golf Club, which is owned by the city of New Richmond, is a Section 4(f) property within the project limits. The proposed project would use a small portion of the golf course, including approximately 300 square feet of permanent right of way and approximately 950 square feet of temporary limited easement needed during construction. The proposed project is not expected to adversely affect the activities, features or functions that qualify the golf course for protection under Section 4(f).

Construction is currently scheduled to begin in early summer 2028 and is expected to be completed by early fall 2028.

The project will be constructed in stages, using the existing Willow River bridge as a breakpoint. County A/BUS 64 will be closed to through traffic during construction. Local access will be maintained to all properties, and a signed detour route will be provided.
